Technical Analysis from A to Z
The 2nd Edition by Steven B. Achelis is one of the better introductory
texts. Written in a simple and straightforward style it is available
through Amazon.com and other booksellers.
You can read parts of the book at http://www.equis.com/customer/resources/taaz/
Available at:
Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets : A Comprehensive
Guide to Trading Methods and Applications
By John J. Murphy, if there is one weighty tome you can read on
the subject of technical analysis, this is probably it. At over
550 pages this is no lightweight read. It starts with an examination
of where technical analysis fits within understanding financial
markets.
Available at:
The Encyclopedia of Technical Market Indicators
Robert W. Colby and Thomas A. Meyers, available through Amazon.com
and other booksellers. Encyclopedia indeed! This is very wide ranging.
You can examine portions of the book using Amazon's "Search
Inside the Book" feature.
Available at:

A Writers' Reference 3rd edition
by Diana Hacker (Bedford Books/St. Martin's Press, 1995; ISBN 0-312-13417-7).
Invaluable for sensible, non-pedantic answers to style and grammar
questions. It's up to a 5th edition, but the third edition is fine.
There are hard cover and paperback editions (and they're fairly
cheap), but the plastic comb-bound one with tabs is the handiest.
Available at Amazon used starting at $24 and change when this was
posted. You can examine portions of the book using Amazon's "Search
Inside the Book" feature.
4th Edition (1999) Paperback available at:
5th Edition (2003) Plastic comb-bound with tabs available at:
